IUCN Asia, in partnership with the Malaysian Nature Society, is organizing a hybrid webinar in observance of World Mangrove Day to explore the biodiversity and ecological importance of mangrove ecosystems and their role in supporting coastal communities and protecting shorelines.
The webinar will highlight how mangroves contribute to biodiversity conservation, carbon storage, coastal protection and local livelihoods, while discussing the importance of safeguarding these ecosystems for future generations.
The event will take place on 1 August 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (GMT+7). Participants may attend in person at the Malaysian Nature Society Auditorium (limited to 20 seats) or online via Zoom.
